A historic company located in the center of the Municipality of Barolo and a reliable representative of the history and tradition of the Langarola Appellation, the Bartolo Mascarello winery is currently managed by Maria Teresa, daughter of the unforgettable Bartolo Mascarello. The 5.5 hectares of vineyard owned are mainly gathered in Barolo where, following a natural viticulture, the Cru Cannubi, Ruè and San Lorenzo are cultivated; in the Municipality of La Morra Maria Teresa has vines planted in the Cru Rocche dell'Annunziata. The average age of the plants is 25 years, the oldest vines (60-70 years) are found in Cannubi. The harvest is always manual; cement tanks are used for fermentation, the same happens with indigenous yeasts and frequent pumping over. The "basic" wine maceration lasts 10 days, for Barolo this time is extended to 35-45 days. The refinement takes place according to tradition in large Slavonian oak barrels. The wines are of a clear traditional matrix, with a strong natural breath and always faithful to the vintage that gave birth to the grapes of the Nebbiolo, Freisa, Barbera and Dolcetto varieties.
