For over 100 years the Rosso family has owned the cru: Cerretta, La Serra, Broglio, Meriame, Sorano, Costa Bella, Lirano and Damiano. At the beginning of the 1980s, Giovanni Rosso restructured most of the vineyards with extremely modern planting patterns, designed to produce only high quality grapes. In 2001 at the age of 27, his son Davide, an oenologist and with important experiences, decided to personally take care of winemaking and winemaking with a single goal: "Wine must be the perfect copy of his Terroir". The earth is the "magic" of Serralunga d'Alba, one of the best in the world. The type of terrain, altitude and exposure are different characteristics that vary from one Cru to another and require diversification of processing. Every single job is done by adapting to the vineyard and, consequently, to the different weather conditions every year. The vinifications are traditional, with the use of indigenous yeasts only and long maceerations on the skins; refinements are carried out in large barrels.
