Tenuta Nuova was born from an innovative project of a vineyard planted in a territory south-east of Montalcino never experienced before and represents the desire to produce a Brunello with great personality: structure, finesse, quantity and quality of tannins, length, drinkability and potential of aging. The soil, the microclimate, and the botanical realities typical of the Mediterranean scrub surrounding the vineyards are the perfect demonstration of the exceptional nature of the Tenuta Nuova terroir. A well recognizable wine, awarded by the most important opinion leaders in the world.
Manual selection of the bunches before destemming and selection of the grapes with optical selector. Spontaneous fermentation follows without the use of added yeasts and maceration assisted by frequent punching down. Everything takes place in conical steel vats at a controlled temperature for 24 days. The wine then ages 37 months in cask and then 12 months in the bottle.
Winter was characterized by mild weather with abundant rains in February; budding was regular in the first week of April. Flowering took place in the last week of May with sunny weather, perfect for a good fruit set. The summer was generally mild, without excessive heat peaks and with some rain. The ripening took place in a slow and constant way, also thanks to the considerable temperature variations between day and night in the days preceding the harvest which favored an almost perfect ripening of the grapes.
Very young and deep red. Nose of great aromatic intensity; the notes of red fruit, especially cherry, blend perfectly with the usual balsamic character of Tenuta Nuova. On the palate it is endless: rich, deep, enveloping and with an extreme purity of the fruit. This is followed by the flavor and acidity that masterfully blend with pattering and vibrant tannins. The finish suggests a very long life for this great vintage.
Wine with enormous possibilities of evolution in the bottle
Taste it at a temperature of 16 ° -17 ° C after a brief oxygenation to facilitate the opening of the wine. It goes splendidly with refined meat-based preparations, even roasted.
