wine description

It comes from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the historic Brunate Vineyard in La Morra, on the southern slope towards Barolo, with 4,600 plants per hectare on a surface of 1.6 hectares. The vines are about 43 years old and rest on calcareous-clay soil. In the cellar the wine ferments for 21 days in a steel tank in contact with the skins, of which 3 for prefermentative cold maceration and 18 for fermentation and post-fermentation maceration at a temperature between 30/32 ° C. Daily air replacement with the application of an ancient system called "submerged hat". It carries out malolactic fermentation in barriques and is aged for a total of 32 months between barriques and large oak barrels. Bottled without filtration in July 2014.

Brunate Vineyard

Brinata is written on the ancient land register of 1477 in the municipal archives, Brinà is the diction in the local dialect.
