WINE DESCRIPTION

The Barbera de La Romualda grapes ripen on 7,000 square meters of land with sixty-year vines placed in the sub-area called Pian di Romualda in Monforte d'Alba. In the vineyard great attention is paid to every phenological phase with drastic thinning that allows to reach full ripeness and concentration and to harvest at the end of September. Vinification involves fermentation and maceration without inoculation of yeasts and without added sulfur for a period varying between 30 and 60 days; the aging lasts twenty months and takes place in 400 liter barrels, then rests in about 1,800 bottles produced before being marketed.
