Many Barrosu experts have defined a compromise between a Barolo and an Amarone and certainly one of the few excellences such as cannonau in purity. The wines are produced only and exclusively from the vineyards of its property, the product does not undergo any type of filtration or stabilization treatment. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, there is only the addition of sulfur dioxide before bottling with reduced doses.

Giovanni Montisci's Barrosu is produced from Cannonau grapes grown in Barbagia from 65-year-old vines. It is the Cannonau of the company that in the 2016 vintage consists of 6000 bt. It was the wine from which Giovanni Montisci started in his production. In the vineyard the training system used is the sapling and the yields are around 40 q / ha; the agronomic practices used can be traced back to the concept of naturalness and organic viticulture. The manual harvest took place in October; after soft pressing, the wine ferments and ages for 24 months in 40Hl barrels, the duration of the pre-fermentative maceration is 35 days. There is no filtration and before marketing it rests in the bottle.

It has powerful and enveloping scents, is rich in matter and with a high aging potential. The mouth is powerful and it is a sincere wine that is told for what is without artifice.
