Produced from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the renowned Cru Valferana located on 320 meters above sea level and overlooking the Vercelli, the Cru Valferana di Nervi is about 5.3 hectares and the best Nervi plots are called Valferana Fileppo and are on the south wall of a steep hill in the middle of the largest Valferana valley. The vines are from 10 to 40 years old with the majority planted in the mid-1980s. The name appears in fact already in 1228 and derives from the Valle Florana - the fertile valley - or Valle Ferro - the iron valley. The Gattinara Vigneto Valferana di Nervi is a great wine, able to combine the majesty of Nebbiolo and the noble minerality of the Cru Valferana.

tasting notes

It is presented in the glass of a pale ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose is expressed with seductive aromas of ripe red fruits intertwined with clear hints of bitter orange peel and graphite. Notes of balsamic herbs and dark spices complete the olfactory picture. On the palate it is elegant and intense, supported by a silky tannic texture and an exciting mineral freshness that persists in the long finish.
