wine description

It comes from Nebbiolo grapes from different Nebbiolo grapes from Barolo. The average age of the vines is 35 years and the plants per hectare are 4,500. In the cellar the alcoholic fermentation lasts from 18 to 28 days at a temperature of 28 ° -35 ° followed by malolactic fermentation in steel and barriques. All the vines are vinified and aged separately until the time when the casks that will be used in that year for Barolo Castiglione are selected. The total aging period in wood is 2 years: in barriques for 4 months for the period necessary for the natural development of malolactic fermentation and subsequent transfer to large barrels for about 20 months. A passage in steel is foreseen for a few months before bottling.

Ruby red color with garnet reflections, frank and direct nose, predominance of fruity aspects but also hints of mint, spices and candy.
