This Barolo comes from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the La Serra cru, owned since 1946, in the Municipality of Serralunga d'Alba; the soils are calcareous and very white, the exposure of the vineyards is south-east and the altitude is 380 meters above sea level. Manual harvesting takes place in mid-October; in the cellar the fermentation lasts about 29 days with daily pumping over, delestages and piages, the vinification takes place in cement tanks without selected yeasts. The refinement is in 25 hl French oak barrels of the Fontainebleau forest and lasts for a period of 36 months, the bottling takes place without any filtration.
Ruby red, with garnet hues. The nose is wide and intense; it is expressed with hints of blackberries, blueberries and cherries, notes of mint and hints of tobacco and leather. On the palate it is full-bodied and well-structured, with velvety tannins and long persistence.
Wine capable of evolving and growing for many years.
Taste it at a temperature of 16 ° -18 ° C. Excellent with red meats, roasted and stewed, it is ideal to accompany game.
