It comes from Nebbiolo grapes harvested in Serralunga d'Alba, in the Vigna Rionda cru, with 2.5 hectares of land at an average altitude of 320 meters on calcareous-marly soils. The average age of the vines varies from 30 to 50 years, grown with traditional Guyot; the density per hectare varies between 6,000 vines in the oldest part of the vineyard and 5,000 in the younger one. The yield is around 45 q / Ha, the grapes are harvested in the second half of October. It is the traditional Barolo par excellence with fermentation and maceration for 25-30 days at a temperature varying between 31 and 33 ° C, it is aged for a total of 6 years, of which three and a half in barrels of about 30 hl in Slavonian oak and two and a half in the bottle.
It has a beautiful garnet red color. The nose goes from the very intense floral of the early years to the characteristic "goudron" of aging through multiple scents that are always very suggestive. In the mouth it is probably the most powerful of all the wines produced by Massolino, it sums up very well the essential characteristics of Barolo wine such as the great structure, the excellent alcohol concentration and the tannins capable of guaranteeing very long aging.
Wine capable of evolving for many years.
Taste it at a temperature of 18 ° C combined with meat-based dishes, rich in intense and persistent aromas and flavors such as lamb or kid cuts. Moreover, thanks to its marked tannins, it marries superbly with the sweet-bitter alternation of feather and fur game.
A complex wine, always evolving, able to guarantee unique sensations to refined and demanding palates.
