wine description

Some years Pinot Nero vines were also planted in the calcareous and clayey soils of Appiano Monte. From the interaction between soil, variety and cool climate, a very promising wine was born. The Pinots from this plot are distinguished by the additional indication "vom Kalk".

The vines lie on clayey and calcareous soils at the foot of the Mendola Massif, mainly dolomitic and with highly variable ferrous content (red clay). The soils are very deep and enjoy an excellent and constant supply of water.

Fermentation in oak vats with cold, malolactic pre-fermentation and aging in barriques on fine lees for 15 months. Maturation in the bottle for one year.
