Some years Pinot Nero vines were also planted in the calcareous and clayey soils of Appiano Monte. From the interaction between soil, variety and cool climate, a very promising wine was born. The Pinots from this plot are distinguished by the additional indication "vom Kalk".
The vines lie on clayey and calcareous soils at the foot of the Mendola Massif, mainly dolomitic and with highly variable ferrous content (red clay). The soils are very deep and enjoy an excellent and constant supply of water.
Fermentation in oak vats with cold, malolactic pre-fermentation and aging in barriques on fine lees for 15 months. Maturation in the bottle for one year.
Ruby red. The nose is rich and complex; it is expressed with hints of raspberries, black cherries and blueberries and earthy notes. On the palate it is vigorous, well structured, with a fine tannic texture and an elegant aftertaste.
Wine with interesting prospects of aging in the bottle.
Taste it at a temperature of 16 ° C - 18 ° C. Excellent in combination with red meats, roasted and grilled, it also goes well with game and aged cheeses.
