Giuseppe Cortese's Langhe Nebbiolo comes from grapes from the younger vines from which Barbaresco is obtained. The total area of the Cortese vineyard is 1.5 hectares, has a South-West exposure with an average altitude between 200 and 330 meters above sea level; the soils are calcareous-clayey, with excellent sunshine and the vines are about 15 years old. The harvest is manual. Fermentation lasts about 30 days and takes place in steel. ; subsequently the malolactic fermentation takes place which normally ends in a month. The refinement is carried out for about 12 months in Slovenian oak barrels ranging in size from 17 to 25 hectoliters, varying in age from the new to 8/9 years. Minimum 6 months in the bottle before being marketed.
Bright garnet red. It has intense and delicate scents at the same time, which recall cherries and red fruits in general, but also sweet spices, tobacco and crushed flowers. In the mouth it is pleasant, fresh and clean, with balanced tannins.
Wine capable of evolving well for many years.
Taste it at a temperature of 16 ° -18 ° C with wild boar in dolceforte.
