Wine description
It comes from Pinot Noir grapes from 30-40 year old vines. The parcels of the estate are located next to the most prestigious vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. The clayey and silty soil on marl. The clayey content of the soil allows to obtain rich and aromatic wines. In the vineyard Domaine Henri Germain et Fils applies the dictates of organic farming. In the cellar, vinification is carried out in the most natural and traditional way possible, using indigenous yeasts for spontaneous fermentation in open wooden vats for a duration of at least 12 days. The wine ages for 10/12 months in medium toasted oak barrels.
Tasting notes
It has a beautiful ruby red color, of great consistency. The nose reveals aromas of black currant, licorice and undergrowth. The mouth is fresh with notes of black currant and a slightly mineral finish, excellent product, of a great territory.
