It comes from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Chambolle Musigny, in the 0.11 hectares of vineyards facing south / east. The harvest is manual; the vinification involves the use of de-stemmed bunches with natural fermentations and long macerations. The refinement takes place in pièce for a duration of 18 months. The 2017 vintage gives us a Chambolle Musigny softened by the warmth of the vintage, in which you can feel a fleshy fruit and an assured gluttony.

Wine description

It comes from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Chambolle Musigny, in the 0.11 hectares of vineyards facing south / east; here the vines (average age 38 years) rest on clayey-calcareous soils with deep soils belonging to the Batonian period. In the vineyard herbicides and chemical products are banned, a "natural" viticulture is practiced. The harvest is manual; the vinification involves the use of de-stemmed bunches with natural fermentations and long macerations. The refinement takes place in pièce for a duration of 18 months.

Climate

Winter 2016-17 is consistent with our continental climate with its alternations of freezing and thawing that allow the earth to decompose and eliminate some microorganisms.Spring is very early with very mild temperatures in March which favor an accelerated growth of screws. However, temperatures cooled in April 2017 and, a year and a day after the terrible frost of April 27, 2016, a new period of frost was on the horizon. The mobilization of the winemakers is exceptional and everyone is present in the vineyards before dawn to light fires of straw, whose smoke shields and prevents the first rays of sunlight from burning the young shoots. Flowering is early and rapid at the end of May. A hot and sunny summer occurs for a long time with regular rains that allow the vines to continue their development.A last heat wave occurs at the end of August and causes an acceleration of maturity.

Tasting Notes

In the glass it shows a beautiful ruby red color with purple reflections in the glass. The nose is at the same time floral, with notes of violets, and fruity with small red berries. Spiciness in the finish. On the palate it is well balanced, easy to drink and with a medium structure. Well balanced fruity aromas and minerality.

Aging Capacity

Wine with excellent aging potential.

Small Tips

Taste it at a temperature of 16 ° -18 ° C, combined with game dishes.
