Elio Altare's Dolcetto d'Alba is a classic red from the Langhe, produced from grapes from the vineyards cultivated in La Morra, an area highly suited and famous for its balanced and highly refined wines. The choice to carry out the entire winemaking process using only steel means that the fruity notes typical of this autochthonous Piedmontese variety, cultivated for centuries in the Alba area, stand out. With its ease of drinking and pleasant expressive readiness, Dolcetto represents the daily wine in its best sense. Dolcetto grapes are fermented with maceration on the skins for 2 or 3 days in rotofermenters at controlled temperature. The wine ages for 10 months in steel tanks before being put on sale.
Bright ruby red color at sight, with subtle purple reflections in the glass. The nose is intense and clean, open with floral notes of violet and then characterized by flavors of ripe blueberries and wild strawberries, with nuances of pink pepper and rosemary to complete the picture. The sip is well made, balanced in freshness and well defined in the tannic texture. Good length.
Wine ready to drink, it does not disdain 2-5 years aging.
Taste it at a temperature of 18 ° C with red meats, game and mature cheeses.
