A Volnay of excellent structure by Thierry Glantenay who bases his soul on great drinkability and eschewing any attempt to be piacione.
It is a very inviting wine, welcoming but never banal. The experience made in the last twenty years by Glantenay also leads to this kind of pleasures to be uncorked.
Wine description
It comes from Pinot Noir grapes grown in Volnay in the various parcels owned and classified by Volnay AOC Village with vines of an average age of around 45; here the vines rest on clay-limestone soils with deep soils belonging to the Batonian period. This Volnay Village is a collection of parcels including lieux dits Lurets, Grands Poisets and Buttes. They are all found at the bottom of the Volnay hill, they are able to obtain a fine and well balanced wine. Harvested by hand in small crates, the crops are around 30 hL / ha. Fermentation occurs spontaneously. Aging takes place in oak barrels, maximum 20% new, from 12 to 16 months depending on the vintage. Bottling is carried out without clarification or filtration.

Of a brilliant ruby red color, almost cherry. The nose is open, direct, with hints of red cherry, very pure. On the palate it shows a beautiful structure, good acidity, non-invasive tannins and well-alive fruit aromas. Long and savory finish.
Aging capacity
Wine with excellent aging potential.
