This Burgundy is called Terroir d'Exception because the vineyard is located in the heart of the Perrières appellation. From these vineyards are born wines full of minerality and finesse, just like Meursault 1er Cru Perrières.

Wine description

The Bourgogne Blanc Terroir d'Exception is born from chardonnay grapes and stands out for its breadth, delicacy and finesse. The finish is of a remarkable length of minerality that lets the earth from which it was born shine through. Manual harvesting is followed by a slow and progressive pressing that allows the extraction of the richest juice. The static decantation for a dozen hours allows to clarify the must which is then moved into the barrels for alcoholic fermentation. This wine is vinified and aged on the lees like a Chardonnay in a large white area. Careful monitoring is performed to obtain the richness, complexity and balancing function of the characteristics of each vintage. The wines are aged in new oak barrels for 30% and the remainder in steel tanks. The barrels are assembled before bottling after 12 months of aging.

Climate

After a particularly short winter, the months of February and March are almost spring, dry, with even a record of heat for the season on February 27, favoring the awakening and early development of the vines. On April 5th there is a first morning frost followed by four others until May 7th. Winegrowers run for cover by lighting fires to protect the vines. The summer of 2019 is one of the hottest known with two heat waves: one in late June and the other in late July. In some points it will exceed 40 ° C. Fortunately, the month of August brings rains that allow nature to regenerate. The climate is cool at the beginning of September to warm up as the harvest approaches, which begins in the middle of the month.
