wine description

On a rock made up of marl and clayey conglomerate, the sandy, silty and clayey soil where the vines of the Aghaenau are grown. The underlying rock avoids the percolation of the waters, which remain available for the vines. It comes from the assembly of 4 vines; the different varieties give this wine a great expressiveness.

CLIMAte

After a very short winter break, the beginning of the sprout of the vines took place exceptionally in early April. The beginning of the cycle was characterized by an unusual drought in March and April with 16 and 26 mm of rain respectively. The low rainfall in May (57 mm) allowed the development of the vines. The month of June, with its good weather conditions, made a beautiful flowering possible. However, some Rieslings and Gewurztraminer have suffered from runoff. The arrival of rain in mid-July (139 mm during the month) ensured a good development of vegetation and grapes. Despite a cold and relatively humid month of August, the ripening of the grapes is well advanced and the acidity has been preserved.
