Produced from Chardonnay grapes in the 0.5 acre 'En Remilly' vineyard located just above Le Montrachet and bordering Chevalier-Montrachet. The shallow soils are made up of clay and limestone, with more crumbling stones upstream. In the cellar the wines of the Domaine Philippe Colin are vinified in the traditional way, through the performance of alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in a Burgundian piece, the wooden elevating lasts 15 months. In the cellar Philippe also uses large wood (500lt) in addition to the 227-liter Pieces. The use of new wood is always around 20/25%.
The approach in the vineyard follows the line of the Lutte raisonee and at the moment still has no intention of making the next step towards biodynamics, although Philippe's idea is one of respect for what nature offers.
