Pernand-Vergelesses is an appellation from the municipality of the same name in the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy. Sous Fretille is a 1er Cru from the Domaine Charlopin Tissier made from Chardonnay grapes, the most important white grape variety in Burgundy. Following the Burgundian tradition, the grapes vinify in wood for a period of about 1 year and then refine in steel. This production style gives Sous Fretille greater complexity, softness and elegance, which make it appreciable even in youth.
Cultivation of vines
The vines are grown organically and a simple guyot pruning is used. All the work in the vineyard is done by hand. The vines are planted at a density of 10,000 plants per hectare.
